Being that the 24 Hours of Booty is set to kick off this Friday afternoon in Charlotte, I thought it would be appropriate to re-publish a post I had on my old blog. Look for a brand new edition of photos from the 2011 edition of the 24 Hours of Booty.
Laugh if you must at the name, the 24 Hours of Booty is an event like none other. For 24 hours straight, riders of all shapes, sizes, skills and fitness levels pedal around a 2.8 mile tree lined neighborhood loop in beautiful Myers Park, a suburb in Charlotte, North Carolina. The riders sleep, eat and socialize in the Booty camp and can ride as much or as few miles as they like on the loop. But this isn’t a race. It’s a charity event where riders raise money for cancer research through Lance Armstrong’s foundation. In fact, this week, 24 Hours of Booty announced that they had hit the $1,000,000 donation mark for 2011. What an incredible achievement.
Best of luck and happy cycling to all the cyclists this year. Now go get a taste for what I’m talking about and enjoy the photos from the 2009 24 Hours of Booty!
